Home-based sub-editor, Thornbury Magazine, responsible for News Around items 7 months a year.
Thornbury Magazine is looking for a Sub-editor to assist the Editors for seven out of the ten issues each year. The position of Sub-editor will entail editing the News Around items in line with Thornbury Magazine’s house style under the guidance of Pauline Montgomery as Editor. The position is homebased and will take approximately 8 to 10 hours per issue which can be spread over two to three weeks for each of the issues, in line with the publishing deadlines. Full training will be given. Possibility of taking on further editing in the future.

Basic IT skills - internet & email
You will need access to a secure computer and be experienced in producing and editing Word documents and with using emails. The use of the English language grammatically and effectively in written form is essential for any editorial position, along with the ability to pay attention to detail and work to set deadlines.
This is an opportunity to learn how to edit a paper-based community publication and to understand how the full editing and publishing systems work.
