Cat Fosterers

Feline Fine Foundation

By offering a spare room or your whole home, you’re playing a vital part in the welfare of both the cat and its owners.

Detailed Description

When a human crisis hits – such as becoming homeless, going into hospital or fleeing domestic violence, for instance – cats can be left out of the equation by necessity. Temporary housing often means owners can’t take pets with them. Catteries and other forms of care may be prohibitively expensive. And relying on neighbours or family members to step in isn’t always practical. Feline Friends helps to fill this gap by arranging for cat lovers to offer a spare room or their whole home thereby playing avital part in the welfare of n both cat and its owner. Previous cat ownership is a real plus but we’ll be on hand to support you. Some time and patience is required, particularly as our cats are coming from a range of situations and all react differently. Once you’ve filled out a fostering form, we’ll get in touch to talk through your preferences and the practicalities of taking in a cat, including a home visit or video call. The cat will arrive with an initial supply of food, litter and toys from its previous home (or foster homes). If at any point the cat in your care needs vet treatment, the cost will be covered. We’ll also ask you for regular short updates and photos to pass on to the cat’s owner about how they are doing. And we’ll keep you in the loop about any changes to the owner’s situation so you know how long you’ll have the cat for.
