Governor for an outstanding school for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Detailed Description

Our school is seeking volunteers with a passion for education / special needs to act as Governors to support and challenge the Head Teacher and his team. The role is focussed on monitoring school standards and ensuring everything is in place to meet the needs of our pupils and students and help them fulfil their potential. The time commitment is 1 x 2hr meeting each school term, currently on Thursday afternoons and two monitoring visits into school over the year. We are happy to have informal chat's to explain more about the role and please look at our website to learn more about our school.

What is in it for you

We are honoured as volunteers to help some of the most vulnerable children in our society and our school advocates for children and their families as well as providing outstanding education. In the role of a school governor you will learn about how schools operate, cover staff and pupil wellbeing, policies and assessment. It's an interesting and valuable role. We also have a bit of a social life and meet up with all the Governors in our small specialist Trust.

Time Commitment

We meet once a term on Thursday afternoons and Governors will visit the school at least twice a year to carry out monitoring
