Whitfield Tabernacle Trust
Individuals with experience of finance, fundraising or event planning needed to strengthen the Board
The Whitfield Tabernacle Trust is about to appoint contractors to complete Phase II of the work to restore the Grade 1 listed 1741 Whitfield Tabernacle in Kingswood, with the intention of opening in Spring 2026 as a community building and events venue. We aim to secure an exciting future for a building with an important past, but we need to strengthen our Board with enthusiastic people who can help us develop a sustainable organisation that will deliver the key elements of our Business Plan. The new Trustees will need to take the lead on managing the Trust's finances and marketing.

The Trustees we need must have a degree of IT capability in order to access, process and distribute information from various sources. The three specific areas we need to address will probably require us to appoint three different Trustees. One of these must have knowledge and experience of charity banking and reporting. One must have experience and ideas to contribute on a range of fundraising activities that might be appropriate to our needs, and another needs to be familiar with marketing, licensing and staffing events and services.
Our Trustees aim to make a significant contribution to improving Kingswood by providing a meeting place where the community can come together and take pride in their history. We believe that Phase I of our project has already generated interest in what an be achieved to save and restore a building for public benefit.
