Thornbury and District Stroke Support Group
Leading the Charity's board of Trustees.
The Group's Trustees meet at roughly 6-weekly intervals and the role of the Chairperson is to lead the board to ensure effective governance, strategic direction, and compliance with legal requirements. His/her key responsibilities include running meetings, setting the Group's agenda and ensuring the board operates efficiently to meet its goals. In co-ordinating the various roles of the Trustees s/he drives the Group's strategy and guides the Board toward consensus on difficult decisions. In addition, he or she may, if they wish, represent the Charity by publicising its role at public events.

The volunteer will need the skills to co-ordinate the work of others and to inspire them to reach the Charity's objectives.
You will help provide a valuable facility for those in Thornbury and its surrounding area who have suffered a stroke.
