Volunteer listeners needed to listen and understand.
You will be there for people who need someone to talk to. You'll be willing to listen and understand, without telling them what to do.

Befriending
You will provide a phone, email, SMS and face to face service to our callers. Ideally, you will be available, on occasions, to work in the evenings and overnight. Full training and support will be given at all times. You will need good listening skills and a a strong wish to help others. You must be prepared to keep confidences within the Samaritans organisation.
The opportunity to develop skills that may be of use in other areas of the community.
circa 4 hours per week, - on occasions in the evenings and overnight.
