Wellbeing Companion

We offer a Wellbeing Companion service to provide a holistic approach to loneliness and isolation.
The role could involve you supporting with light household/gardening chores, accompanying to social groups, taking shopping, taking to medical appointments, helping with diet and nutrition and so much more! By volunteering regularly, it can make a big difference to someone’s life, help alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation and vastly improve their quality of life.

We are looking for someone who: • Has some free time to visit clients on an ad-hoc basis • Has a non-judgemental attitude • Is friendly and flexible in their approach • Is patient and sensitive • Has good communication skills • Is empathetic, and understands the needs of older people • Can hold conversations in confidence • Ability to refer any concerns about the older person to the Volunteering Team • Has access to a car (useful but not essential)
As a volunteer you would get a sense of fulfilment and wellbeing from helping to improve the lives of others. You would gain people skills and be able to see real changes in people's lives. You would have the opportunity to undertake training in Safeguarding and Dementia. We are able to pay travel expenses and offer references where required.
