Bat Guide volunteer

A local historic property is seeking volunteers with an interest in bats to give evening talks about the roost and the study facilities. As dusk falls, visitors move into the house to see the bats flying through the corridors and Gothic chapel and going outside to forage.

Detailed Description

Woodchester Bat experiences offer visitors with an interest in natural history an exceptional opportunity to observe their bats during evening bat tours. The mansion has a bat observatory to see the bats in the roost above via the high definition monitors. They are seeking volunteers with an interest in Bats to give evening talks about the roost and the study facilities. As dusk falls, visitors move into the Mansion to see the bats flying through the corridors and Gothic chapel, and then going outside to forage.

What is in it for you

Note: volunteers do need web access and email to be able to book their rota slots. To be part of a team caring for and preserving Woodchester Mansion, a splendid and unique unfinished gothic house in a beautiful Cotswold valley.

Time Commitment

One evening per week/fortnight/month to suit volunteer. 3 hour shifts.
