Thornbury and District Stroke Support Group
You will drive members of a stroke group to and from events using your own vehicle, picking up within five-mile radius of Thornbury. You will offer a steady arm and may need to lift wheelchairs in and out of your vehicle. Days and times flexible. Expenses paid.
Volunteers are needed to drive members of a stroke group to and from events using their own vehicle, expenses are paid. Will offer a steady arm and may involve lifting wheelchairs in and out of cars. Could pick up from from Bradley Stoke/Almondsbury to Thornbury area. The Group has a very active social calendar; they meet fortnightly at Alveston, go swimming at Thornbury Leisure Centre on Monday mornings, have an Art group and go on regular outings throughout the summer. By taking and collecting members and joining in the activities and befriending the stroke victims you will get to meet super people and enjoy the social activities.
Befriending, Buddying & Mentoring,Driving (must have full driving license)
UK Driving Licence
Clean driving licence and sympathetic personality. Must be willing top use own vehicle. Wheelchair lifting and pushing requires a certain degree of physical fitness.
Satisfaction of being involved in worthwhile activities and being part of a team.
Volunteers can help as much or as little as they like, the group are very happy to be flexible.
